Auditions for Spring/Fall 2018. February 17, 2018 – 10:00am – 11:45am

Leverage Dance Theater seeks dancers for evening length performances June 29-30 and October 2018.  Additionally seeking dancers for additional projects including educational programming and community events starting as early as February 2018.

Dancers should be trained in a combination of modern, improvisation and ballet and be comfortable performing in close proximity to their audience.  Dancers should be prepared to participate in a modern/contemporary-based technique class with possible improvisation scores and/or longer combinations.

Please bring résumé and rehearsal availability. Headshot not needed.  Paid positions and unpaid apprenticeships available.

Rehearsal start date is negotiable based on dancer’s project availability.

Leverage requires all new dancers to participate in Saturday rehearsals and at least one other rehearsal or class weekly. Average time commitment is 6-12 hours per week with some participating more or less based on their availability and casting.

Leverage’s current set schedule is:

– Tuesday 1:30-3:30pm
– Occasional Thursday daytime hours
– Saturday 9:00am-2:30pm
– Occasional Friday afternoon/evenings

Additional rehearsals will vary according to casting choices, project needs and dancers’ availability. Additional dates and times, including potentially evenings, will be set once company members are selected for the season.

Internship

Seeking: individual considering a profession in dance, arts administration or not-for-profit administration. Internships require students to be innovative team players who can also work independently. An investment in dance or education is a plus.

Saint Louis-based modern dance company seeks qualified candidates for internship opportunities in the arts. We are a busy and growing company and need team members with a profound commitment to quality, professionalism, and follow-through.

General Arts Administration intern will have the opportunity to observe all aspects of non-profit management and gain insight into what areas might be a good fit for further study or career development. Experiences will include logistics and production for performances, developing partnerships, coordinating children’s programming and fundraising events. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the issues facing arts and not-for-profit organizations including development, marketing, and branding. Regular duties will include answering email, online marketing, database management and research. Writing skills are a plus.
